So, who wants to help ... to take refuge in the Cellar?

It’s like Great Danes or Wolfhounds; they’re careful how they move, where a labrador barges into things.

Most Great Danes, maybe… I was closely acquainted with one of the exceptions.

It’s all down to early training. Do not let the kids wander off…

Note offstage responses; on the other side of the partition, Tysie and Kiki - the mini-roos - also jump to attention when Bella issues orders.

This is most inequitable. I watch Bella at her work again, but I don’t get to do another ‘like’; how is this right, fair, or representative?
Bella: A++ good mummy. Mini-roos: A++scaredy-chooks, or C-- butch and roosterly Roosters, depending on which side you squint from. Bonny: squee to the nth, where n is an unfeasibly large number, or would be had its symbol not been pecked gleefully up by a really remarkably small fluffy tiny wee chicken.

And the article says they use cigarette butts, while the illustration shows an unsmoked cigarette; would it be any use for fumigating if it smelled of tobacco rather than of burning?

Probably not. I blame the photographer, leading young birds astray.

Obvious, innit? They smoke it first, then build the nest.

OK - serious answer: the one in the photo is probably taking the filter material to line the nest

And ignoring the stub to the left of the picture. I see.

Back when our piano tuner was also our dealer, it was quite important to get him to tune the piano before he started to make any samples for selling. Otherwise he had to come back the following day and put it right.

What you are probably thinking. Hence the need for him not roll up until later.

Roll-up being most appropriate.

I have to admit to never, ever imbibing in any way, shape or form. Not sure whether I’ve missed out or not.
