I’m always confused by what is and isn’t irony, but would that have been ironic?

But no, they’ll never do it. Good thing, coz if they did, it would be mawkish in the extreme. Didn’t we all suffer enough with Kirsty’s and Ruth’s miscarriages?
Ruth’s miscarriage was infinitely preferable to the alternative, though.
They wouldn’t know comedy if it bit them on the bum and they died of blood poisoning.
Heatherpet’s would have been favourite
