Mark Hebden defended Shula in court, but I donāt imagine that counts as āpulling stringsā. And Phil would have done no such thing: quite apart from being furious with Shula because he was a magistrate and she was an embarrassment to him, he was hoping that Nigel would get the book thrown at him, because he disapproved of him.

That has to be around the time various PMās and other polly-tickers, were chuntering on about too much Freemasonry and string-pulling, in legal and judicial circles.
