Mr C used to sing it I’m sure that it will be on the cassettes labelled ‘Travelling Music, or Dad’s Hits’. These were shaky, home-made compilations which we used to sing along to whilst driving the 1000 miles to Carinthia. We must have looked like lunatics to the uninitiated! Carinthia.xx ---

Mr C & The Lad ( my Stepson) were very fond of Dino . Many of our Austrian friends are mad about Frank Sinatra - known there as ‘Frenkie- Boy’, but they like ‘My Way’, & it gets on my nerves after a while Well, yes, Gus That & our insistence on having cars with the steering wheel on the wrong side marked us out somewhat… 😉 Carinthia.xx ---

I always preferred _I Was Born Under A Wand’rin’ Star_ and also loved the story about how Lee Marvin reacted to having won a Gold Record for it. As a result of this surprise win, someone who had got an interview with him at his house asked him whether, now he’d leapt to pop stardom, he would be making more records, and he smiled and said, “Son, nobody needs more than one beermat,” and gestured down at the table. And the interviewer saw that was what he was using it for. ---
