Where were Peggy and Hazel having that touching little heart-to-heart today? The Lodge? if so, why did Hazel go round there again? or the Flat Above The Shop? if so, can Peggy really get up those steep stairs unaided?

And come to that, what guff Peggy’s apology was. She has seen Hazel twice this century, indeed since her marriage to Jack, and for one of those visits by Hazel, Jack was present and could speak for himself. They have not “butted heads over the years”, any more than either of them has butted heads with Martina Navratilova.

All good points. One thing the writer got totally right was Peggy’s little dig at Tony for not being ‘generous’ enough to agreed that Hazel be invited to Pat’s birthday tea. Poor old Pat, she was about to have another occasion ruined for her, narrow escape. Oh, and had to love Tom blaming Tony 'n all, while trying to curry favour with Hazel. What a weasel! (Unfair to weasels, I know.)
