Usually I pile in on Joshie’s side, simply because he gets a raw deal from David and Ruth, which only encourages the utter ghastliness of Pip. But this time there’s no excuse. It was quite gratuitous nastiness, not biting back when provoked.
Incidentally, what on earth possessed Alistair to confide in the brat? What with that, his humiliating encounter with Doug Lovell and being subjected to a few barbed comments from Emma, it really wasn’t his day, was it?
