I don’t see why Pip was surprised that Toby came to Brookfield by invitation some while before. And as I have said elsewhere, her decision not to get back with him really wasn’t particularly dramatic. Has someone forgotten to write a scene in which she rushed away to The Bungalow and into Stella’s arms and bed?
