Radio Times Ambridge Diary May 17-21

Nostalgic though it is to listen to the current selection of archive instalments, they do leave you craving comebacks for much-loved characters. On Tuesday, for instance, Matt Crawford’s hit and run from 2017 gets another airing - an episode that sparked a “Who Splat Matt?” mystery. He was a complete rogue, yet I can’t help but wish Lilian’s “Tiger” would return to cause more trouble.
Ambridge’s seasonal events often prove to be the catalyst for big drama. Thankfully, there’s not always a violent outcome: the Christmas lights switch-on from 2014 resulted in Emma proposing to Ed. You can hear that touching moment on Thursday.

It annoys me that such clumsy /unbelievable character changes have been allowed to happen.

I don’t look through rose-tinted Spex, but some of the older episodes do seem, at least, to have been crafted…

Yes, I agree, and I’m also waiting for Gus to comment on the ‘touching moment’ on Thursday!
