Today I have had some egg fried rice wot I made for lunch, then 2 hours sweep & some tinned mackerel which I made into a salad with some lightly pickled onions.

Today I was at crafty group and then home to make a good wallop round the chops coffee cake which I sandwich with butter cream and walnuts and buttercream and walnuts on the top
It was for the ICA and we were delighted to have a cheque to give to the local mental health outreach group so that proper councillors can bee employed
Fund raising by selling cakes is so hard given the way folk seem to plan outings around tea and cake
And the day before the pig races is a good day to capture the tea drinkers

Morning all
I love one of the ICA ladies who bakes - every time she sees my baking she quizes me on my ingredients and my flavourings
She wanted to know how much Camp coffee essence I had used
Amd when I said a double espresso went into both cake and icing she was amazed at my making butter cream with proper coffee wanting my methods and everything

My Mother used to use both espresso and Camp coffee in hers. She reckoned that an spoonful of Camp took the edge orff any possible bitterness from the espresso.

When I made coffee/walnut cake for my Dad I used any old instant coffee and he loved it.
We’re in the throes of carpet lifting and laminate laying. Corridor, study and living room are done. The bathroom is being tiled just now. Every room is a mess, but it’ll be fine in the end.
