So, who wants to help ... to cavort in the cellar?

I always thought Durrell mère very sound in her thinking when she said that making like a snail and burying one’s eggs in damp earth would be a far superior arrangement.

Ideed. No need for anaesthetists, gorgeous or no.

Veg stirfry was good enough. I always prepare about 5x the volume of veg I think necessary and it’s only ever just sufficient.

Stir fry abandoned

Chicken shroom and onion pie in my shortcrust pastry which was rolled out in the extra wide pasta roller ( Ken’s makers do the extra wide rollers for pastry)

It made the construction of the pie sooo easy

Yet another reason to adore Ken

Sis and BiL came over for lunch. We had seafood (various), tapas trays, salads (various), Pringles and sourdough bread. Pud was Lidl florentines and coffee.

Swineherd’s pie and sprouts… I am Contemplating a soup for the weekend. But I have managed to burn soup three times running by forgetting that it is on, so I am feeling just a little edgy about it; I don’t know why I am doing this all of a sudden, and until I work it out I don’t want to risk it again, because eventually the pan won’t take any more and I don’t want to kill a saucepan!

Too engrossed in yer knitting, eh, Fishy?

I use my Piggy Timer to remind me to check on things, or, if itizz Stirfry soup I know that it needs 5-7minutes in boiling stock off the gas wivvan lid on.

The Fambly all appear to have soup-makers & assure me that delicious soups are ready in 20 minutes.

I enjoyed the last of the nourishing soup, & have had pasta wiv Pesto too.

No, Carinthia. But, seafood is plentiful in Leith and that suits us just fine. We bought smoked mussels there, for Boxing Day, and they were hugely enjoyed. I do miss the FishWives*, alongside other folk, but life is good hereabouts.

Has In-die-gestion struck the Fishly-Dunnocks, or are they merely torpid, from (good) food?

I had an hot roast pork sandwich wiv roasties, crackling & gravy at The Chesterfield Arms wiv my Grandson & Great Granddaughter.

She enjoyed minced beef & peas from her flask, & fed dog-treats to Sam, the Border Terrier who was visiting.
