I like a good bit of earnest quality control, Carinthia. Sefless devotion to one’s craft. I have mushrooms (of the large flat-cap variety) to grill and various other veg (which might be made into kebabs). Mr Bee will balk at the following but, azz we have no green pepper to go with the red and yellow, I’ll have to steam some asparagus to go with the rest. It’s up to him to endure the resulting beely-wee, or not. Doesn’t bother me none. It’ll be a bit ovva wierd dinner - I think that shopping must be done, tomorrow. Soo xx ---

I have never noticed any particular post-asparagus pong. I bet That Dog would, though. (Every time I enter the house she inspects my crotch, presumably in case I have been Up to Something.) ---

No recipe as such, Fishy, as itizz often a ‘leftovers’ sort of meal, but I either mash onions & corned beef into cold mashed potato, or do, as I have done this time, & layer it. The left over mash was heavy on the garlic/grain mustard, & I have stirred beaten egg into it so that we get a crispy garlicky top Comfort food Oh, & bake it in the oven Just to add that The Silver Spoon is a wonderful Italian recipe book IMO Carinthia.xx ---

It’s one of those things for which not everyone has the right genes to enable them to detect the smell of the characteristic metabolites. So you aren’t immune, you just have the wrong DNA ;- ) There’s a whole perversion based on asparagus pee, you know… ---
