So you unpicked the waistband where it joins on to the skirt to lift out the lining ?
I have a feeling that I am not going to like your answer…

So
Make up a Noo lining & stitch it back on to the skirt & sew the waistband back down
It’s easier if you let the elastic go first…

DDD report is that the vet could find nothing wrong; but at one point while she was feeling the whole leg to see whether there was anything wrong with the muscle, DDD gave a little Yip. Since then I have taken the DDD for a half-hour run on grass, and she did not limp at all.
I conclude that it is a mild sprain, and only hurts if she treads a bit sideways, which on grass she doesn’t need to do.
Anyhow, I am to monitor her until Monday and get some anti-inflammatories from the vet if she still seems to be having any trouble then.
So all is (probably) well.

An extraordinary thing just happened. A friend from years ago got in touch out of the blue, hadn’t heard from him since about '95. Catching up, it turned out his daughter died just a few months before Lou did. I feel a bit shell shocked. Need gin.
