Well here am I having found a YouTube thing on great batsmen, expecting to be lulled to sleep by John Arlott, stringing the thing together. Halfway through is someone whose autograph I requested as a wee annoying snotmonster. I wouldn’t mind but it started with WG Grace…
Yes, Sparrer, sportsball. But cricket (and certainly pre-war, as in the '39 one) IS different.
