So, who wants to help ... to flummox the cellar?

Plumps silk pillocks and the softest throw to ensure our Chatelaine is able to have a comfy flump

I was and am deeply impressed by the very efficient lad who fitted a double cannula to my arm on Sunday (painkillers in one drip, saline in the other) and the doctor who removed it when they discharged me; I didn’t bruise at all! I now can’t even tell where it was. Class, those A&E nurses.

Flump well and productively, m’dear.

Brilliant, Fishy

It’s normally easier than this was, I must say, but it was abit early for vampires, & me…

The weather is most odd, & we are moving into high pressure here. When I went out at 0930 it was 16° outside, & is now 19.5

Yesterday was Ferkin’ Cold, & windy

Warm here and raining

Ours is the only county not on a rain warning on the island’s Atlantic coastline

We think there is no warning for us as it’s situation normal

Raining with enthusiasm and persistance!

I used to be told to drink a pint of water about ten minutes before I had blood taken, because apparently that is meant to swell your veins a bit.

I never noticed it helping!

The thing about this miraculous youth was that he took about twenty seconds from start to finish, tops, and clearly found a vein with no trouble; it can take three or four tries sometimes. (I would make a terrible heroin addict…) I seriously thought that all he had done was take a sample for testing, and only realised there was a cannula in when I moved my arm into my line of vision.

I know that non of us likes when we ā€œlikeā€ bad news for other cellarati - I use it as a sympathetic hug and hope others take it as such

My GP used to test students by getting blood from me

One time I needed a cannula fitted in A+E in the plague pit and one of ā€œmyā€ trained doctors appeared

He was perfectly gentle and got a vein by using an extra tight tourniquet patience and gravity

I lay with an arm hanging down a really tight tourniquet and shared dirty jokes with him while we waited for a vein

I trained that baby doctor well…

Meanwhile the plaster that was put on after I had my 'flu vaccination on Monday last week has finally come off. (It could have held on longer, but it was starting to itch.) Ten days is not at all bad going, given that they usually come off me in less than 24 hours.

(I mean, I think the bloke missed the actual injection site, but my blood is weird.)

If that’s not a pub name, it ought to be. A new enterprise for the Bridge Farm Poisoners?

I didn’t get a chance to check out ā€œFriends of Hamā€ when I was in Leeds (charcuterie and beer) but I feel enthused by the idea.

We have some gammon: you can be friends with it if you like.

Alas, such friendships rarely last long.

Since cellarati seem to run on bacon butties I am surprised that gammons have survived with a wee birdie around

See, this is wot that Life Skills course taught me. If you wait to steal the food until after it’s been cooked, it’s much nicer!

Fuzzy hugs, Twellsy. It’s a horrible not-merry-go-round that you’re on.
