I heard on R4 yesterday lunchtime (I think) about the enormous increase in the price of garlic & many other foods. Small businesses, like cake-makers were reporting a 40% drop in trade, & the lady making top quality Indian food said that she could no longer give safe quotes for parties or weddings as prices are going up every month.

I got 50 250g bulbs of organically grown garlic at a euro apiece
But that is from a friend who knows I will use it and store it properly - in the dark and dry
I have squooodles of tiny cloves of garlic from the flowers of the garlic - C loves bees so lets all flowers grow into seeds
Sweet! The meat on that first plate is trying to hatch out a clutch of potatoes. Ostrich steak, perhaps?
One bit was pig, the other cow. I think the carrot was the seasonal vegetables.
What about the seasonal onion rings?
Went down the Fish too fast to check.

PS: the correct translation from the Hebrew for âpitcherâ =/= âapricotâ. Either âsteam engineâ or âcider pressâ has been posited. mainly by me, to be fair.
Which, thinkinâ about it either way, would have meant Rebekah was both hefty and remarkably enterprisinâ. OK, a jug with apricot-like qualities, which in the absence of Fairy Liquid or dishwashers is perhaps understandable.
