Nanook, the Arctic Bee. White wiv stripin’ in tasteful shades of grey? (Bit like me 'urr, then)

After yesterday it is a lot cooler here
I love the sun but not quite the intensity of yesterday
I have an all over tan from my hammocking
And I am enjoying my tome that tries to explain through a huge amount of research how Southern American cuisine came to be
It is fascinating how various foods and the different ways of preparation by both the Native people and slaves from different countries in Africa all combined to make something wonderful
And knowing all the while that this was made from the almost nothing given to slaves
Pollen is very high here, as is UV, so no going outside without the usual Factor 50 fer me.
I do tan eventually, but never ever sunbathe. The medication makes me more photosensitive, so it really isn’t worth it.

I know that you are not able to be outside revelling in the sun as much as me dear
So I will just have to revel for both of us
I actually dreamed of you last night
I was trying to make a frock from a 2 metre bit of cotton and you took it and made gorgeous full skirted sleeveless dress in a couple of hours
I was never a sun-worshipper anyway, Twellsy, although I do like to feel it on my back.

I grew up on a beach so being out in my bikinki all summer long and being tanned with sun streaks in my hair is my sort of thing
Too much fair & sensitive skin going on here!
I’m surprised that we weren’t done to a frazzle, TBH, as we had a couple of bad cases of sunburn, when it was breezy, rather than sunny.
The only stuff available seemed to be ‘suntan oil’ & then the inevitable calamine lotion.

I played at yachts with no lifejacket or any protection other than my bikinki or rode horses and donkeys on the beach so I was innured to sun and windburn
But I have that sallow complexion that tans quickly and rarely burns
…and rhinoceros hide on yer arse?
Basically yes dear limpet
My Late Father, with black hair, & dark eyes tanned magnificently to an enviable deep bronze, & loved the sun. His other 4 siblings didn’t, & most of their children have the red-headed/ freckles/ stereotypical Irish thang going on.
My Late Mother, who was English, had porcelain skin, grey-blue eyes, and glorious deep auburn hair, whereas her siblings, who were actually half-siblings, had red hair, rather than bright ginger.

Once, I was rubbing my back against an architrave to deal with an awkwardly sited itch and Himself said I put him in mind of the rhino he’d seen scratching its arse on a thorn tree…
Snorkity snork snork Gus!!!
