Take plenty of Gin with you, Soo

That is splendid as far as it goes, Darling, but the Cellar (la cave, c’est moi for present purposes) requires a tad more detail.

Shepherd’s pie, garlicky baked tomatoes and creamed spinach here.

We chose 3 items from the Tapas menu as starters, so shared a cheese board from The Cheese Factor which had 6 different cheeses, crackers butter, grapes, greenery, chutney & olives wivvit. There was a platter of Spanish charcuterie, with olives, greenery & a balsamic type dressing. I shared a bowl of whitebait with DiL, as The Lad doesn’t eat fish that actually looks like fish…

After a very long pause, I had chicken Cubano, which was chicken, smoked bacon & salad on an open-faced sandwich with homemade coleslaw & a few chips.

That definitely gets the Cellarly seal of approval, dear Chatelaine. Hurrah!

(although I am slightly of The Lad’s party on the Whitebait Question)

I love them, but rarely have them. These were proper ones & of a decent size.

I appear to have been ‘batch’ sleeping today, with 2 x 3 hours being achieved.

So far I have eaten yoghurt & fruit, with a cheese & ham toasted sandwich next on the list.

Back to the hive, safe and sound. Interesting journey home - we ran over a rat* and saw, separately, 7 owls a-hunting. Grandbee is thriving and Poodle is looking forward to her Spring holiday with us, at the end of the month.

  • Those who know our history with rattus will understand our cold-blooded reaction to the dedding

Rattus norvegicus or Rattus rattus?

Rattus norvegicus, I think. It was big (before it was squished). We saw a toad crossing the road, too. It should still be alive as we didn’t squish it and the road was quiet.

Rattuses are minging and our car is suitably lethal.
