So, who wants to help ... to frivol in the cellar? (Part 1)

Good to hear that dear Chatelaine

My poor twin

I am hugging rowan trees and the contorted hazel for you

I am also lighting my sunset sands candle for all flattened cellarites and reporting distressing sobriety to our sparrer

I told a fib last night as there is just enough bacon left for bacon butties

Rich smack in the mouth and bites back coffee tasting cake

Coffee & Walnut is a favourite of mine, but the coffee flavour always seems to dissipate during the baking.

I use a strong strong needs help out of the pot espresso coffee and the same in the icing so it does taste strongly of coffee

Twellsy - I am so sorry to read this. Fuzzy hugs and all kind wishes from yer bee.

Have a ā€˜last rose of summer’ from me. Carinthia knows this one - it only started blooming about two weeks ago.

Eww. Bury my heart at Putrid Knee?

Be a sensible Twellsy and let it NOT be infected, please. There’s enough trouble in the Cellar already.

You lot are all lovely, with all the birthday wishes and treats. We are back, and completely knackered, but I believe the best that could be made of a hospital birthday has been made. I think OMCB was asleep before we were out of the door of the ward, mind.

Seconded, with knobs on.

Oddly enough, I am half way down a large one. And wondering how on earth I’m going to find the energy to eat.

and lots of tea through the day?

Heh! One lot of specialist doctors here told me last month that I must drink more water for my kidney function and urea levels, while another have just sent me a booklet which instructs me to drink less water to avoid an increase in water-retention (which I don’t suffer from anyway but they are assuming for some reason that I do).

Not sure quite what I am supposed to do, since the second lot seem to think they are treating me for something urgent which was established in a recent hospital visit with tests – I last saw that department at the hospital pre-covid, and this sudden emergency was so terrible that I had an appointment with them which they cancelled last October, followed by a telephone consultation this January which they also cancelled, and then a telephone consultation on May 11th for which they didn’t bother to ring me up, but instead wrote to my GP the following week complaining that they had not been able to get through to me for it (a flat lie; I had the phone on me all day, there was nothing wrong with it, and someone else rang me on it that evening so I know it was working). I must remember to ask them when I see them in November when they took these Serious and Threatening Tests; I can’t help feeling that if I were in any sort of actual, mortal danger I might well have died before they got round to seeing me.

Both those two are diuretics and might not be as good as simply water. But tea at least keeps the fluid levels up.

as i retain fluids i seem not to notice diuretic effects

so i will enjoy my tea and iced tea
