You can never have too many trees.

Do you not have knives in Ireland?

Ah well, another day. We’re promised thunderstorms, something to look forward to. Perhaps.

Dunno about thunderstorms, but we definitely have Grey Sog.

Time to go and conquer the world. But first, breakfast!

A review of Waitrose baby pak choi. I note that 8 people marked this as ‘Helpful’.

That has seriously compromised my chances of conquering the world this morning. It’s hard to build an empire while giggling about tortoises.

We’re back and unpacked, first washerload whirring away. We stopped in Moffat on our return (had a hotdog with onions and mustard in a roll) and we popped into the Moffat Toffee Shop. So - 100g chocolate covered coffee beans for DS, 200g handmade chocolates (assorted) for DD and SiL, some amount of milk chocolate chocolates for OH and violet creams for yer bee. Oh - I picked up a bar of pistachio-filled chocolate which I may share with the Embra crew when the bairns aren’t looking.

This is because of one eejit that thinks that the rules don’t apply to him

So he has spent 1500 euros to get the stewards to decide if he is right in the delusion

Grrrr

Really should have posted this last week, before the Beely holiday

Phew. One identity parade I swerved. Incidentally - we noticed many more winged beasties down in Galloway, such as bees, wasps, hoverflies, butterflies, houseflies (grrr) than we have encountered in Peebles or Northumberland. Very little crop production = less pesticide use, perhaps?

We have an abundance of all the above here, plus dragonflies, damselflies and grasshoppers, and plenty of crop production. The butterflies are particularly plentiful this year. I couldn’t say why, no idea.

Oh, well. Another one bites the dust, TFM. Unless…your farmers are more kindly towards our pollinators (they need them, after all). I’m knackered and rambling, so otb. Best nights, all.

Possibly so, It only occurred to me after I posted that many of the fields hereabouts have wide margins left for wildflowers etc., and that must make a difference. Plus we have areas of wetland wildlife reserve not too far away too. So all rather obvious, really.

Home at one o fecking ack emma

I have noted the competitor and he is going to find out that officials at rallies tend to be the Same folk at events around the country

And we remember folks who annoy us

I saw flying beasties in our garden dining on smaller beasties
