So, who wants to help... to perpetuate the cellar?

How many beaks now Joe?

Twenty - at the moment! Two silkies looking on the broody side. (Only to be expected - the brooding season for silkies is when there’s a “y” in the day)

I think I could fall in love with solkies

Soft long feathers and gentle natures

What’s not to love?

Joe had better take charges of the ones in the Cellar garden, then…

The Silkie hens are one hen of each colour: one of the non-standard ones, a red bearded silkie, and a partridge silkie, and a cuckoo silkie, and a bearded splash silkie, and a buff silkie, and a chocolate silkie, and a black silkie, and a white bearded silkie, and a golden silkie, and a blue silkie makes eleven.

In charge of silkies? Oh yes, they’ll let us think that, so long as we do exactly what they want. They manage to con the roosters, too…

Remember this?

Isn’t that rather where we came in?

Silkies are the poultry equivalent of cats in their ability to train humans?

Given that our joe is feeling poorly, I’m sure that you’ll be joining me in a toast to his better health.

I didn’t know, but I’ll certainly join you now that I do,

I’ll probably manage that all by myself…

Well, maybe not the Marmite. About the only yeast product I haven’t taken to
