Many, many years ago I went in a pub on Wicklow St. on a bit of a pub crawl in that Black-pool, RoI. I noted they had Murphy’s not Guiness & so asked for a pint of that. The kindly barman asked if I’d been drinking Guiness. “Yes, a couple” … “,Then you won’t be wanting Murphy’s " … " But I like it, maybe even prefer it !”.
“But you mustn’t mix them … the result is … shall we say “severe pebbledashing” of the porcelain in the morning !”
