I have had four (I think, might be more), and to be honest it sounds terrifying but they were less unpleasant than some of the things I have had done to my teeth. After the initial injections to kill the pain, nothing; next day and for a couple of days, a bit of bruising in the area, but since the nerve had been removed (that’s what it is for) the pain was less than it had been when I had an abscess in the same place earlier in the month.

I have inspected the fish drawer and have discovered a hitherto unsuspected dearth of sea bass, which I had planned for tomorrow’s dinner wivva butter, caper and lemon sauce. Fish Quay, tomorrow, then.
