So, who wants to help ... to rattle on in the cellar?

And again:

A Good Day has been had, chez bee.
Shoesies and bag (no, not me) have been tastefully embellished and I am very happy with the results. Photies tomorrow.
It’s bedtime and I wish you all good night.

A good day seems to be happening here, too. But it being 29 hours long seems a tad excessive…

When I was living in London, I’d often drop in at the Brick Lane Beigel Bake while cycling home. They never close. A good solid salt-beef-and-mustard, or pickled-herring, would set me up nicely for the last few miles.

Meanwhile, a cool grey morning hurrah! It won’t last of course, but we can expect another couple of hours of reasonably pleasant weather before it gets horribly hot again.

That fascinator is stunning

A mere 35.2 in the shade here yesterday

And wall to wall sunshine

My slow cooked spiced beef turned out to be a recipe worth keeping

The salty rub draws moisture from the beef so it holds its shape while the fat marbling keeps it moist

Being piggies we ate what the recipe said would feed six

My thought on the portions for six is that they must be anorexic!

1kg of beef cooked for 10 hours yeilds around about 20oz of eatable beef when you discard the fat on the outside as I do

References, mainly, o Bee. I can’t prove much experience - having looked after the dog of deceased persons isn’t much use now. And my other best referees are no longer in the country and the friendship has lapsed somewhat and it would be awkward to resurrect it in these circs.

Oh well. Fill in the form, send it back, see what happens, I guess.

I could give testimonials to yer ability to look after a sparrer. Bread would be mentioned.

Ah: so I could put on the form that I would be particularly well attuned to the needs of that little-known breed, the British Crusthound? An excellent plan: computer says ‘Wot?’

I might have posted this before. Be that as it may, I am posting it again.

Gus had a fall earlier and has hurt her back, so may not be doing a lot of computering tonight. I think it ought to be much improved in the morning, but she might not want to think too much…

Good about the BBQ and the miracles and all and all!

I go sleep now.

Pore Gus!
I hope that she is safe and sound and that tomorrow will be a much better day.

Chatelaine here, sending Greetings & Great Concern

Horrible when yer back hurts - you don’t know which way is up

Or want to, really…

Big Hugs from The North

Gus dear you are breaking the rules you know by falling

I am the falling one in the cellar

I caused consternation at Rosie’s by descending the stairs on my rear

Seriously I am sending you hugs and fresh bread made with French bread flour so you have nice open textured bread with a good crust

Do get better soon and remember I am likely to arrive by broomstick to nurse you

This is a threat

I learned nursing skills from my mother who was a nurse

Basically unless at deaths door you were fine
And even if at deaths door you were meant to get on with things

Much love from this daft old bag who likes the Gusly way of looking at life
