So, who wants to help ... to rattle on in the cellar?

Sounds much fun, BGers.

Flapping about sorting Furrin Trip stuff. Handy hint: Post Office furrin exchange rates are better than anyone else’s atm.

I have a Post Office Travel Money Card which I can pre-load with Euros ( other currencies are available) , & the rates are usually reasonable

Halifax Clarity Card is highly spoken of too

I realise that this doesn’t help for Finland though…

Finland is in the Eurozone, so the travel card would work there; it would be no help for Sweden (Kronor) and Denmark (Kroner).

I use a Clarity card for credit-cardy things, but the Post Office for boring old cash.

I recall a business-news prog on BBC WS radio some time last year in which they mentioned that Sweden has gone cashless to a very large extent - I think they said that in some places some businesses (e.g. taxis) no longer normally accept payment in cash.

Yeah, and a lot of Swedes are not happy about it.

Meanwhile I have Repaired the Fan & am now vaguely cool again. (Yeah, babes, I never stopped being cool, innit? I’ll stop now.)

It is Too Damn Hot.

I have been out finding some Hozelock watering spikes to put into the plants while we are away, so they don’t have to be watered every day but instead get the water they need in a steady sort of way; now I have to find at least six old plastic lemonade bottles to fix to them.

Ooh, a pub visit is called for!
