So, who wants to help ... to rattle on in the cellar?

‘Barbecuing’ is a good thing to do with mackerel. Marinade of lemon/lime, fennel seed, hot paprika, and serve wiv orange, potato & watercress zalad (Um. I am not from Zummerzet) salad

If you have a good ridged grillpan, that’s ideal.

Though picking up Belgian French he’d have ended up with French which made him sound like Will does in an English context.

#1 son … the Disappointment … learnt practical Spanish in a summer school putside Madrid. Apparently he swore a great deal and had a Spanish equivilant of Cockney. He’s refined it a bit since.

His immersed French came from a year at the Sorbonne doing a legal degree in French. No quarter asked or given. That gave him fluent but very tevhnical French and sounds like he went to Eton apparently.

To be fair, his real English accent has a leaning toward Etonian. Very odd when I have a clear North-Western accent & can still slip into “thee/thy/thou and 'ey Up” with no effirt at all.

This was with Mango & Coriander

Here’s the R for Jay Rayner

Sigh

MrC used to despair of me, 'cos I learned my German on the ground in Austria, azzitwere & it is heavy on the local dialect

They suggested barbecuing the mango until the innards were liquid & then dressing the fish with it

I will have to LA

I usually try to listen to the Kitchen Cabinet, Carinthia. JR used to irritate me, but I quite enjoy listening to him, now. Not being a fan of mackerel, I wouldn’t try that recipe at home, but it sounded good (of it’s kind).

Best wishes for your appointment, tomorrow, Twellsy.

I have worked out that I sprained a patellar tendon, when I fell a while ago. The pain is very specifically orientated and I shall buy a supportive strap tomorrow, so that I can actually manage to walk about on our away-two-days, commencing Thursday. Church in the morn - I’ll not be kneeling! - so I’d better pop off to bed.
Sweet dreams, Cellarites.

Dined at a traditional unspoiled 1950s Greek pizzeria (with rock and pinup posters on the walls). Just what one expects to find in southern Sweden.

Also some local(ish) beer.

Pig, Sparrer – there’s a difference?

But we ate well. And there was ice-cream. There was ice-cream today as well, with crunchy sprinkles of the sort of vivid colour you can’t get in England any more.

Since Sudden Daughter wasn’t really interested in having a day by day account of this year’s trip, I might do it for the cellar instead, but probably when I am somewhere rather better designed for using this laptop than a too-low table to rest it and a soggy pouffe to sit on. It is going to kill my wrists, this.

Ponders an Fish with wrists…

I have 2 small ‘feet’ to use with my Waptop when travelling. It tilts the keyboard slightly, & stops things overheating

In Carinthia, & at home, I use a stand which tilts it even more

Looking forward to hearing your account, Fishy

Looking forward to reports from the Fishly-Dunnocks.
And all of you, obviously.
I shall retire, having been too engrossed in football to pack properly. Still - we aren’t going to Timbuktu, so if I do forget summick one such will be readily available.
Good nights, Cellarites,
