Nigel was an honourable man, and so, I think, was Gerald. Julia was not honourable, Elizabeth is not honourable, Lily is not honourable. Freddie is at present the only hope for some; and he may well show it, because he has made a good start by wanting to leave and not be the cause of trouble – not that he was, because the cause was and is Elizabeth not bothering to do anything about the licence.
