Foggy here

As in visibility down to 15 yards

I had a disaster yesterday with an onion a thumb and a knife

Only 3 stitches needed

Thank gawds for GPs who understand you have no desire to go to the plague pit for sewing lessons for baby doctors

Iā€™m less botherated about who does it , assuming they know what theyā€™re doing ā€¦Iā€™d rather Quick-Fit Fitters didnā€™t turn up, even if nothing is quicker than them. Itā€™s the time waiting which puts me off. Our local A&E averages at a 6 to 8 hour waiting time ā€¦ 12hrs plus is not rare.

Your onion would have bled to death Twellsie.

Thank goodness Wales dedicates (or should that be ā€˜desiccatesā€™ ?) over 50% of its public spending on the NHS. Imagine how crap it would be if it was less !

I have trained my doctor to take my word for things. And unless glass is involved, I tend to use steri-strips and swearing and not bother to tell the doctor at all, because doctors always get panicky about the warfarin if you have a cut.

(Actually the person to deal with it ought to be the practice nurse.)

Here the plague pit has regularly 45 - 50 folk waiting for a bed and numerous others waiting to be seen

So our GP is wise enough to offer a minor injuries type of thing

The posh clinic equidistant from us with the plague pit only has ED to 6pm

And costs a fortune if you are not admitted

Insurance does not cover ED fees unless you are admitted

So one tries to avoid EDs unless sent by GP!

Agree about the rat poison fishy

But when steristrips fail to stem blood loss and one is leaking alarmingly then the services of a tourniquet and the practice nurse and GP are needed

They are used to me by now and they happily tend to my cooking wounds

As for using the food processor of Kenā€™s many attachments usually it takes less time to chop an onion than it does to haul out the food processor and blades

Wot - no out-of-hours Viagra supply?

That is supplied with the Morning-After pill, in a sort of twin pack, Joe.

To encourage 'em to stay till the morning?

Of course, if Viagra were needed but unavailable, the question is ā€œmorning after what?ā€

Or possibly ā€œmourningā€.

Which is why they are supplied as a pair.
