In what possible way has Matt left Borchester Land in a mess of any sort?
He was their chairman several years ago, and they got rid of him ruthlessly as son as he got into trouble with the Fraud squad; he has not been in any way connected to BL since 2009.
When they got rid of him, they didn’t bother to ask him how the filing system worked…?
Now I think of it, do you suppose that somewhere in that lot is the explanation for Shula and Alistair suddenly deciding that Matt’s presence in Ambridge is intolerable after a decade of perfectly civilised coexistence? Or maybe we could dig out the one that explains why Matt completely forgot sacrificing his life savings to be with Lilian?
