I don’t recognise that writer. Is she new or a rare bird, or am I just not paying attention?

Rings a slight bell. I think she’s newish. Who is ‘Angus Shrimpton’? That and Roman Trench makes me wonder if they’re having a competition for the Most Peculiar Name.

She’s a twit, of course; most of it’s from other people.

Meine damen und herren, mes dames et messieurs, ladies and gentlemen
I have just had a most unwelcome thought.

Helen, prowling off into the Borchester night and snarling with disappointed rage, hooks up with none other than Gavin Sphagnum.
With luck this drives a wedge of vast proportions between her and Kirsty, and also between Kirsty and Philip (who won’t be impressed that his lad is in the clutches of The Ambridge Slasher.

Actually, on exploration, the thought turns out to be not that unwelcome after all.

I would love that. I fear your optimism is misplaced as unfortunately Lee is in the cast list for the three weeks December 15-January 3. And - since I remember it I don’t hesitate to make you do so - Helen is feeling ‘loved up’ on December 12th though oddly, Lee is not credited in that week. Though nor was he in this week’s cast list either.

The signs are all there, I’m afraid. It’s True Love and Happily Ever After for the Fragile One. Poor sap that Lee is.
