Some of the plot lines planted over the past few weeks are ripening and promise a bitter harvest for Ambridge.
David tries to sweeten things by offering drinks all round at the Bull but even Joe, usually proud of the Grundys’ ability to sink free booze, turns him down.
Helen and Ruth lam into each other on the doorstep of Grange Farm. Pip, probably the cause of all the woe, keeps up a calm façade but is racked with guilt, while Emma feels no guilt whatsoever when she pushes the shaky Grundy finances even further into peril. Justin, hoping that the way to Peggy’s heart starts with her feet, gets an earful and a later tryst with Lilian hovers once again on the brink of farce.
