I have just realised, in a flash of blinding inspiration, why Musk changed Twitter’s name.
He’s been an accident looking for a spot marked X to happen on for years.

Literally. He’s been hankering after the x.com domain name since 2000, when he was kicked off the board by the people who wanted to merge with their big rival (to become PayPal) rather than destroy both companies in pointless competition.
