Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update November 20-25

The sound of laughter and the smell of Jill’s baking used to float up to Lakey Hill, but these days at Brookfield Farm all you hear is the sound of the back door banging as the residents make an escape from the miserable atmosphere. Kenton and Jolene bear the brunt of entertaining the escapees, but are at odds about how to deal with the tense situation.
Elsewhere in the village things are much cheerier as various Christmas wheezes get underway, putting two musical Ambridgers on the same wavelength but not necessarily in harmony.
Meanwhile Julianne, a steely businesswoman who knows how to get what she wants, starts putting the pressure on to make sure she’s getting enough bangs for her bucks.

Are they suggesting that Roary is her long-term squeeze? 'Cos while I know little of that kind of business I think it’s mostly one-off jobs, escort for a particular event, that sort of thing, definitely not relying on one client for one’s entire income.

There has been nothing I can remember to indicate that Ruairi now has any client except Julianne, but I do have a vague idea that some kind of ‘retainer’ was mentioned. What TBTB imagine will be an acceptable level of tartdom to the listenership is probably more important to them than portraying a realistic business model.
