Somewhat to my surprise, the first time Ed was voiced it seems that the actor wasn’t Barry Farrimond, but someone called Ryan Cartwright. (I have checked, and there is an actor of that name who is the right age to play Ed.) By the following week Barry was in the part, but whyever would they have got someone in for a single episode? they must have known he was going to be a regular.
