Hello, I’m CarolineCat and just really started to listen to The Archers…I guess I have a lot to catch up on.
Welcome, Caroline!
thank you.
So what is the best way to catch up? lol
You could start here:

thanks for this?
Welcome fellow cat slave
I have two Bengals and a rescue tabby
Listen to the programme and any questions about history of characters ask in here
Welcome! Always great to see a new face (especially if furry or fevvery)
As luck would have it there are some freshly prepared date and coconut flapjacks going begging…
I would like to take this opportunity to assure all Cellarati that the development of flapjack technology is entirely for peaceful and medical purposes and that any attempt to divert research and production for military purposes will entail immediate sanctions, including, but not limited to, withdrawal of access to the Gin Lake.
Since none of that is likely to make the slightest sense to a new listener*, older synopses (June 1996 to August 2018) can be found at Archive – The Archers Archives
The specific episode referenced is: Jill ends a blameless life by pleading guilty to criminal assault and Roy is appalled that Lexi is the victim of racist graffiti on her caravan. – The Archers Archives
There are also the official BBC synopses from 2007 to now available at BBC Radio 4 - The Archers - Episode guide but they’re not searchable making them next to useless unless you have a pretty good idea of when something happened. Their accuracy can be a tad questionable, too…
*Or anyone else for that matter
I don’t know, I go away to read something else for a bit and whilst I am not on the board a New Person arrives. Hello CarolineCat, and welcome.
There isn’t all that much in the way of Archers chat on here, but maybe you can help cause us all to talk about the programme more. Ask questions and it’s likely we will be able to give an answer, or point you to somewhere that has one, for instance, and that’s a whole new thread started!
Pull up a bollard.
Welcome, Caroline.
Perhaps I shouldn’t say this but I wonder if there is any point in catching up - I’ve been listening since before I was born and I’m still confused by what I hear most of the time. The confusion is a big part of the fun of listening though.
As I say, if there is something in particular you want to know there’s usually someone who can provide an answer. Sometimes there are even things on the BBC website that are explanatory.
