Because it was a bloody cheek and was inappropriate, I reckon. Other explanations are no doubt available.
But why was it inappropriate? That’s the bit I don’t understand.
Asking yourself whether their relationship to date gives any reason why it would be ‘appropriate’ is possibly a good starting point.
The readiness of the Parish Councillor and Part-Time Chicken Strangler to resign the former position if it would help her cause puts the tin lid on any arguments that she is doing it for disinterested motives, so that’s a good thing, imo.
I still don’t at all get the outrage. It’s no more outrageous than so much of her behaviour, after all.
I mean, yes it was cheeky, but something requiring that cold “never speak of this again” tone? It felt like overkill.
It actually didn’t to me. Jim, in his non-touchy-feely way was leaving an avenue for their interactions to continue on the same basis as before.
Won’t work that way, of course, but then Other (live) Humans isn’t Jim’s specialist subject.
