Saw footage of Philip at Order of Merit reception. Elderly gent teases him for standing down. “Standing down? I can barely stand up these days!”

And yet there he was, at the reception, doing his job, with precious little thanks for it and a lot of “republicans” baying at his heels the whole time.
I wonder whether all the people who gripe and moan about privilege whenever the royal family is mentioned would do half as much for no benefit to themselves, even at forty five let alone ninety five.
