So, who wants to help ... to cavort in the cellar?

Oof

I was feeling brave, (or mad) today & went to B&M Bargains…

Flump.

Howsumevva, I did get some tinned tuna, condensed mushroom soup, tinned sweetcorn, corned beef, Zoflora & large batteries for an old torch which aren’t, apparently generally available.

I are abit weary, but I did manage to stick a number5 on my Noo food waste bin, & put it, along with the black bin outside.

I see your B&M (well done) and raise you a stir-crazy and boisterous three year old laddie for a five hour entertainment session . Great news, today! The painter and decorator has had to delay his visitations by two weeks and will not, now, be pitching up on Monday :joy:.

Gin, Darling?

Corned beef in B&M Bargains is more than £1.50 per tin cheaper than Tesco, & the 2 DBatteries were £2.20, & Duracell, so the effort was well worth it.

Really good savings, Carinthia, and I applaud your effort :hugs:. Gin would be grand, thank you.

So would instructions on how temporarily to remove the batteries from the aforementioned boisterous and stir-crazy laddie. Or so I imagine. Were it not for Gin and allied trades, what terrible things we might do. [limpetly grinnity]

Oh, definitely. :goat:

My entire childhood was blighted because I wasn’t permitted to buy a goat.

With hindsight, my parents might have had a point. Aged four, I found their attitude disappointing and, frankly, incomprehensible.

Wot I’m getting here is that fings don’t fall off the edge 'cos the goats eat them before they can fall. Werl, it’s a cosmology…

Did I scare you all off?

I have gin and vodka that needs dad drinking up to celebrate our new car which we are getting next month

A sun roof and lots of toys with black leather seats in a white car should be fun in a suv that we need for our roads and the sheer amount of driving we do

My head was stabbed and my fancy fifty yard hem skirt admired by the neurologist

And the feckin eejits blockading fuel stores to get the price down have ensured that petroll stations have run out of fuel

Which is not something that can be said for goats.

…and, frankly, incomprehensible.

That, however, most certainly is.

It is very frustrating. An artist of whom and of whose work I am especially fond has just managed to find my phone number and sent me a text saying she missed me at Easter (I didn’t go to the convention) and inviting me to her exhibition and book-launch this evening in Clerkenwell.
And the S.O.B.s have closed the Westway so driving in is out of the question because even if we found another route, everyone else would have too and it is a Saturday into London. And the same or similar S.O.B.s have also closed bits of almost every tube that goes anywhere near Farringdon, such as the Circle and the Elizabeth. Argh!

I shall go by Metropolitan Line and damn the torpedoes! (This takes over an hour and involves Amersham, but my blood is up and I am Determined.) It is in fact the only line to Farringdon that is open, so it is just as well it starts from the right direction.
