I remember reading posts by a friend who got posted to Hot and Sandy. It’s great, he said, they’ve got new air conditioning in the machine room trailer, and it’s down to 50°C in the daytime.
I’m delighted that your friend was so grateful for the intervention, Hedgers. It sounds like hell on earth, to me.

The machines don’t like that, never mind a fevver-coated sparrer.
One of the few good things about this recent hot nonsense is, for me, that the freezers must be raided for quick-to-heat stuff. Once all is returned to normal, I’ll gladly start filling them up again. Tonight’s offering has been fennel and asparagus pilaf with prawns, steamed broccoli and mange tout.

How organised you are!
I made a large dubby of coleslaw when this was all starting, and boiled up a lot of new potatoes to eat cold with mayonnaise, and the rest has been flatmeats or cold boiled eggs or cheese.
You’re more organised than I. I always cook far too much and despite the fact that we have two decently-sized freezers, I frequently manage to ask too much of them. It’ll be fish pie, tomorrow - mark my words!

Dear Bee, that could be construed as An Threat…
Friend Fish, not Eating Fish!

Ah, yes. Fish is not involved in my fish pie.

And Littler Fish are always on the menu for Bigger Fish.

And I got my talons done in a nice midnight blue with stars and moons in gold sparkly paint
Lookin’ gorgeous, Twellsy.
The ahem pie was good enough. It seems that we’ll have cooler and wetter weather, tomorrow, and I am grateful for that - almost as much as anything because I’ll be able to cook something other than me (iyswim).

I went & collected my medication late this afternoon. I couldn’t get my shoes on so went out in the open ones wot are like boats.

Not something I’ve encountered, really. I’m not sure how it works - I usually enjoy sushi, but less so F&C so even I can’t imagine enjoying it. I didn’t see it in Peebles’ Sainsbury’s on Wednesday but bought Silver Tide rollmops in dill which I recommend to the house. Mushroom guvec chez bee this evening.

My appointment for an MRI scan (which was arranged in less than ten days when they finally got their act together) was at 6:15 this evening. I left the hospital at 7:45. In between, I had a scan which lasted for a slow count of 1247.
I hope it’s worth it and they get evidence from it which means they will do the procedure they decided last April that I need!
I very much hope so too, fortitudinous Fish! But what an ‘orrible hot day for such a stressful proceeding.
Coolin’ thoughts and virtual hugs

It was actively cold in the scan room! My tiny fins were frozen at the bottom end of their noisy machine.
Operating temperatures of about 4.2°K will do that…
For the seriously nerdy:
