So, who wants to help ... to cavort in the cellar?

Thank you all

The CF ward is a spotless clean modern ward perched on top of the plague pit and it’s mercifully quiet and staffed with enough good people to look after patients and families while you are incarcerated

Things like a fridge so you can have things like olives and nice cheese and figs instead of the delights the kitchen hurls at us

That sounds rather splendid, Twellsy, and no less than you deserve. I’m sure you’d rather be at home though, so fingers crossed you’ll be back there soon.

Sympathies, Twellsy. Be good and get sprung as soon as may be.

Looks absolutely delicious, Gus. We had freezer leftovers, after visiting our dentist in Peebles, calling in on Sis and BiL and clearing our bedroom in readiness for the decorator tomorrow (around 08.00). Not complaining - once this room is done, we’re done with the painting.

Bees once again redefining ’busy’. Here’s to a completely painted hive!

It really hasn’t been so very busy, just incessant. Other people have done the hard w#rk and we’ve been lucky with the people who’ve done it. Still, an element of organisation has been required and I’m very pleased with what we’ve achieved in just under a year. Happy days!

(I know. A teeny bit disappointing, but you’ll just have to curate the next BBQ)

The FiQ doesn’t do goat. Even if I could source it. Plus I am not an adept in the mysteries of the burgered goat, just in swofflin’ same.

Erpity.

As I recall it, when that was rolled out back in what, 2014 or so? a lot of people were unhappy about the motto and picture, and the combination.

Particularly since the big surveillance revelations of 2013 were still in people’s memories. Not of course that the mission team expected anyone to notice, as usually nobody pays attention to the things.

I remember someone saying “but my big brother isn’t an octopus!” in a peevish manner. (Possibly Langford.)

I have very recently (like the day before yesterday when I was putting on a fresh duvet cover) made a decision I ought to have made several years ago, possibly decades.

When I left home, my mother went to town and bought me a goose-down duvet. Then after it had died in an accident she gave me the two which she’d had as spares and hardly used, bought at the same time as mine. They have been refurtled more than once since then, and dry-cleaned and refluffedup, and seemed to me to be doing pretty well; they must now be at least fifty years old.

But I was made very much aware of the flaw when I replaced a defunct duvet cover with a lovely new one (Morris “Seaweed” for those interested, and I have probably said this before because I am so happy about it) and discovered that it was about three inches too long and five or six inches too wide for the duvet. And it has piping round the edges so I was reluctant to sew it to be smaller. And then I thought a bit.

My duvet was pre-metric!

Last night I went to John Lewis and bought a goose-down duvet the right size for my new duvet cover.

Ti-ra-la-la-i-tu! I gloat! Hear me!

Morris & Co Seaweed Bedding Cobalt & Thyme | Bedeck Home and I think I got the last, end-of-line single duvet cover.

I’d gloat a bit too. That’s a very fine pattern. AttaFisk!

The really lovely thing is that the single quilt is not symmetrical as regards the pattern, because it is narrower than the repeat.
