A different take on wet and forget - looks more fun, to be fair.

I might try to remember “Wet & Forget” for future reference, like autumn next year perhaps, but I’m never going to manage to get rid of the built-up grot without professional help, I fear.

No, I think that you need a lot more than W&F (you can tell that I’ve been to M&S, perhaps). By the way - despite the fact that the apparent global shortage of fresh ginger is said to be down to blight and generally poor harvests - the reason that M&S have lots of ginger is because they’ve got the entire world’s supply on their shelves. I have two enormous chunks that must be grated and frozen in sensible portions.

Mine is called “Pro Kleen Simply Spray & Walk Away” & was from Amazon, I believe.

A good scraping up, & going over with a pressure washer would do it, but it is heavy work, takes quite a while.

A friend has an ‘courtyard garden’ laid with herringbone blocks & spent 28 hours doing hers.

I managed about three feet square. And you know the size of our drive!

That Bird managed some of the edges and about two-thirds of the “moat” in two days.

It’s simply too big a job. If it is done thoroughly now, and then once a year henceforth, it might be possible to keep it under control, like the gorse!

I quite agree, Fishy.

Once it is brought under control, then maintaining it should be much easier.

Yours would need some sort of low level sprayer, carefully controlled, because of the fish, I feel.

Ah, yes. W&F is highly toxic to fish, apparently.

We have a petrol powered pressure washer that works on moss lichen and any other things that want to try to take over the drive and terrace

It uses just plain water and a drop of petrol for the engine so wouldn’t harm any fishes in the vicinity

A toy for the sparrer?

That Bird has a pressure washer.

See above.

It can be dabbed onto individual weeds & mosses, but the spray thing definitely would be dangerust if there was any chance of run-orff to the fishpond/bath.

The Fishly-Dunnock drive is also incredibly steep. Only my weight kept me on my feet…:smiling_face:

One in six. But the Fish Palace is free-standing, in the Moat: no run-off.

I am glad the ruler of the Fishly domain is not a Bengal

Steep drive fish palace and cats who like water (trust me the leopards are waterphilic beasts) and you have total mayhem

Especially if the fishes bite back
