So, who wants to help ... to cower in the cellar?

Soo

I got it in Boots (other pharmacies are available)

We have some small jars we bought in Finland which are basically coal-tar.

It works.

How kind, dear Bee.
I have some ripe camembert, if anyone’s interested…

What is it with me and late June?

Is that one of the DEET-free ones? Anyhoo - I’m glad that it’s doing the business. Midges, ticks and mosquitoes are curses upon humanity.

I certainly am, Gus.

Yup

49% DEET

I know it has problems but I will take my chances rather than be an all you can eat buffet for the insect population in a 5 mile radius!

Fair enough, Twellsy. I suffer - suffer, I tells ye - when the midges bite and don’t wish this on anyone.

I have a selection of insect repellants as I love being outdoors but hate the wee horrors even though I am lucky enough to not be their favourite meal

Living in a bog you learn to take action agin the horrors before they nibble you!

That is what I calls a right royal embuggerance, Gus. I suggest prostration and medicinals. There will be fresh bread in a few minutes.

Was 19° here last night—everyone was complaining about the heat. We were effing freezing! (We’d come from about 35°)

Oh and just in case anyone thinks we were sitting around in the sun doing nothing more strenuous than summoning the next beer…

Well it’s what our weather station reads

It’s the sort of weather where you are unable to move without sweating more and the sweat just refuses to evaporate
Godsawful weather

But we have had thunder storms so it’s nice and fresh now

An evil part of me is hoping for howling gales 24/7 driving rain and just generally miserable weather until the Irish Open golf is over

It’s just a couple of villages up the coast and has a gorgeous beach that is polluted now by golfing types

Hey could the lightning hit a few of the floggists?

You may gather that I hate golf!

Any desire I might have had to play golf was cured when I met the sort of people who play it.
