So, who wants to help ... to cower in the cellar?

I know it well - it’s not raining but you get wet when you go out. Miserable.

Meanwhile in IoM, the sun has come out and the temperature has climbed to 17 degrees. Perfick, in my book.

I suppose she’ll be glad of your absence, Hedgers. Bad luck, though, all the same.

I’m here,Darlings

I promise that I am ok, but have had a ruff couple of days

I awoke at 8am today, & took me first 2 tablets. The next thing I knew, it was 12-40pm,& NDN had opened the awning* & was shouting me to make sure that I was alright.

*This is never done-one stands outside & waits for a response, normally, but she was worried about me.

I saw the Noo Director at the Monday Market this evening, & we have agreed to share the cost of the wasp-nest removal.I also saw Igor, who started the market, & we had a glass of Chardonnay to toast the fact that I am back where I belong…

I am very sorry to hear that, dere Chatelaine… But the Horrible Sunday Tablets on top of travel and everyfing were probably the Last Straw.
Hope the Chardonnay is making things better

But will it look back?

You might be thinking of abysses. Or even abbesses. The latter can ‘look back’ like billy-o.

S’all right, wee Bee: I hardly sulked at all. I too have long experience with the beastly things and can assure you that this is Special and will require very ingenious digging.

It’s still too hot here. I don’t like the combination of staying hot late and getting dark (relatively) early. Bah!

I have just been a glutton

I made garlic butter with parsley and thyme from the garden and had baby new potatoes for the Bull

He feels deprived if potatoes are not on the menu every now and then

The garlic was from a neighbour’s garden

Umm

Is 4ozs of garlic butter with 2 small chicken breast and new spuds excessive?

I can report it was delicious

Totally.

Good work, the pair of you.

No.

Not with anything. No amount of garlic butter can ever be excessive.

I knew folk here would understand

I was looking at a book on diet for diabetes and eye health at the eye consultant’s clinic

Apparently one small egg sized potato is a portion

In Ireland!!!

Most folk are worried if you fail to have potatoes with a meal!

Got much ostrich ranching in those parts?

I noticed this. We ordered roast beef once, which came with roast potatoes. And loads of new potatoes as well.

Then when we peered under the slices of beef, we found it had been placed on top of a large mound of mashed potatoes.

It was loverly.

So where did my sort of eating come from?

I could live without potatoes quite happily

I once nearly crashed the car as a result of ostriches

I was driving my dog to the beach for a run through the countryside of Norn Iron

I rounded a corner to see 6 ostriches peering over a ranch style fence at passing traffic

I was somewhat surprised and nearly ended up in the ditch

The only more surprising incident when I was able to drive was when our county got to the All Ireland Gaelic football final

A Charolais cow had been dyed in the county colours

Seeing a blue and saffron dyed cow is guaranteed to divert one’s attention from the highway…
