Sympathies Chris, that all rings far too many bells, esp the ‘incredibly tired’ bit - it really is a bugger of a cold isn’t it? After 2 weeks I’m now beyond fed up.

I’ve started taking high strength oregano oil today and am hoping that will help clear it, it has worked on similar afflictions for me in the past. I really should have started a few days ago, I usually keep some in stock but of course I had run out just when I needed it and I can’t get the good stuff locally so I’ve had to wait for Amazon to deliver - or rather, for Hermes (known as Herpes in this household) to deliver.

I thought it was only us called them Herpes!

I think I shall be doing some concentrated Olbas Oil inhalation in a bit.

Just walked a few miles over local footpaths to a pub I haven’t tried before. It’s a bit touristy and the Local Lad is regaling his friends with the story of the stroke he had, but the beer is good and the walk was great.

You disappoint me sorely, Dahlink.

Let us hope the little shoite finds a nice fat waspy friend in his pyjamas.

I’ve been thinking about that - have you mentioned it in here before? I think we only adopted it fairly recently so it’s possible the thought came from you in the first place and I’d just forgotten where I’d heard it…

It does fit well though, they’re certainly a pain in the nether regions.

He’s staying with his Grandparents here,& his parents are coming on Saturday, with the 1 year old Brother, staying overnight next door, & driving the 4 hours back to Vienna on Sunday.

School starts again on Monday,& he has been here too long, has run his Grandma ragged & will be shattered going back to school

Sigh

Good to see you dear chatelaine

You are to let your friends look after you and let your peaceful place work its magic on your soul

Or else I will land on the next broom

It looks as though here will be another storm tonight, so peaceful might be difficult…

Thank you. It is in a sling all day & all night. So it becomes unsurprisingly wearysome now & again. It’s properly heavy & pulls on the neck.

I wondered if she, maybe, took the neck bit off & rested the arm/cast on her knee … possibly on a cushion but she says, at the moment, that’s not comfortable.

Any sort of support that fully takes the weight off might help. Maybe several pillows? Pore Mrs Shanks. Please give her my kind wishes, Armers.

In other (rather banal) news, I made a rather nice Singapore rice thing, this evening. Oyster sauce was just the job, for seasoning. Meeting up with DS, tomorrow, for lunch anna natter.

The food was good too. Well, the hors d’oeuvres and main courses anyway; the puddings were clearly prepared off-site and nuked to order.

Lovely photies, Hedgers. Take me next time! I’ll be no bother and don’t like puds, anyhoo.
Good nights, Cellarites,

It is a pub that is a comfortable 50 minute amble* (crossing one minor road) from home. I think I shall prolly be back.

Not that I’m going to be unfaithful to the pub at the end of the road, but that’s awfully handy from a convenient-distance-for-walking point of view.

* or a 9 minute drive but where’s the fun in that?

That Pub of Mystery has a nice wee dragon on its < whatever the bastard thing is called, architecturally > tiled flarey bit. And the last picture was powerfully evocative of - something. Dunno. Anyway, I loves it.
