They need some heavy-duty Shunning, Twellsy.
Don’t they just?
What is it about the US that bewitches folk?
No Health Service free at point of use
Lousy food if fast fooderies are anything to go by
Worship of the almighty dollar
No unions to help if you are unfairly dismissed
I very much doubt if old age pension is available
I can tell you the attraction last night: free beer from the suckers.
Well that is a given - I daresay some were racing from pub to pub to reap the best reward of free booze
As it is about 200yards long of a main street 4 pubs is easy to have a pub crawl to and from
Isn’t it pretty much an Irish tradition, when the big bully comes to town, to smile and smile and stab him in the back?
Not if it’s the Orange eejit + family
$ signs light up in their eyes and blind em to everything else
Cynic of the week here
It feels a bit surprising the Irish being in favour of an Orange.
Snork Fishy
In some parts of this island orange is the only colour
True; but where you are?
Well away from such places and on balance much happier for it
Look for Doonbeg on a map and we are about three miles inland due east
If I walk twenty yards out the drive I can look over a fence and see the eyesore that he is polluting with his presence
I can see the sea too…
One of our morning guests waxed lyrical about his recent cruise down the Danube. He is convinced that we would love to do this (all-inc, five meals a day, loadsa booze) and we really wouldn’t love it, but were careful to pin smiles onto our faces as he was so enthused by it all.
Had a good walk through woodland by the River Blyth. We sat, in sunshine, watching Grey Wagtails catching flies - impressive aerial acrobatics. Mallards with ducklings paddled by. Happy sigh.
Dinner will comprise curried leek flan (outa da freezer) Madhur’s sesame potatoes and a rocket salad.
