So, who wants to help ... to flummox the cellar?

Moving tea one way and pepper the other, sounds like a fine job forran Expediter.

That’s great, Twellsy, but an option not available to many, I suspect.

If I can’t get decent fresh garlic, then I use Lazy Garlic, or paste made from Mediterranean garlic kept in oil.

I know that I am lucky enough to have access to local produce

I can buy local produce, Twellsy, although not quite as local as yours, but have absolutely no idea about anyone growing garlic.

I will have to investigate…

Grow garlic round the roots of your rosebushes; greenfly and aphids avoid them if you do, apparently.

but my mother used to do it and it seemed to work, regardless of the science.

Yes, it does work, Fishy. When I sort out a gardener, & Noo rose bushes for the front garden, I will have a go again.

The only easily available garlic when I was a child was the wild stuff . We lived in a terraced house without a garden until I was 10, & the selection of vegetables was determined by the season/weather conditions, & what was grown on local allotments.
