It’s important to avoid cross contamination

We wouldn’t want forensics to get overexcited, now, would we?

Well a friend of mine is a retired forensic scientist and an expert in drunkeness by analysing blood or urine

Have been to collect me newspaper, & didn’t fall over, today.

There is an open wooden crate on the pavement outside my house. I believe that it is from the bungalow almost opposite, as they are having work done, & I spied 2 crates there yesterday.

Some wag has obviously decided to move it in the middle of the night

Sigh

Always a Blessing, Carinthia. Boo to cheeky crate movements!

Still no thunder and, yet, rain which was not forecast. So, we walked and got a bit damp. Saw a grey squirrel (bad news around here).

Rain here, & miserable

The corned beef hash I made seemed quite appropriate

There are a lot of grey squirrels about here too

We have been glad of our red squirrels, Carinthia, but our wildlife has been severely affected by massive amounts of house-building. I haven’t seen a fallow deer for many months, for example. Sigh.

Cod fishcakes and stringless green bean salad, chez bee.

As I was in a video-call-based game this afternoon, two squirrels scampered very loudly along the fence behind me…

Walkies today.

A lady (of advanced years) ran past us. A passing Dog-walker informed us that she was a Gateshead Harrier (around 80 years of age). I was using my walking pole to, err, walk and felt ashamed.

Time for bed. Good nights, Cellarites,

‘Envious’ might be a reasonable response; ‘ashamed’ is not, dear Bee, as you very well know.
Am reminded, for reasons I cannot quite articulate, of a phrase from the wonderful Mollie Panter-Downes: ‘Helling through Sussex in the nude’, which is what the narrator thinks her MiL thinks she (MiL) is restraining her (narrator) from doing by coming to stay for the Duration.

I know that feeling

I have decided that a soft silver grey will be gorgeous with the cerise mohair so B is ordering the one I chose and knitting me a jumper for Christmas
I hope she knows that I treasure such a wonderful thought and resulting thing of beauty

Supper tonight was a sort of beef stroganoff cooked on the bbq

Not the best but still rather nice
