Just prepped 2 dinners - mince and onion pie in short crust pastry tonight and bolognese for tomorrow as I am seeing the pain professor tomorrow
A wretched bramble caught my wrist while I was cutting some bay to use
I now have a nitchy scratch on my left wrist
But my pastry looks OK so at least one bit of tonightâs meal should be halfway decent
I do all butter pastry bound with egg so it is very very short - good fun to work witgh

Right back to folding a bit of baking parchment many tines so I get something like a circle when itâs cut to size
I take no chances with pastry sticking to my pie dish
And my blackbird lets steam out so my top is not soggyâŚ
I wonât mention soggy bottoms then, & leave that to âBake OffââŚ

I am discovering what a week of being unwell followed by a week in hospital does for your fitness - it wrecks it!
I am cooking in short bursts and having a sit down between bursts

I hope that the âPain Manâ is able to help, but at least you know that the Poppy Juice works, even though it isnât ideal.
