So, who wants to help ... to flummox the cellar?

Oh, Bee! That’s no fun. The food sounds good, though.

The baggage reclaim area at Frankfurt is not somewhere i would choose to spend much time- a view apparently endorsed by half our luggage, which has chosen instead to spend the day in Dublin.

This is not being a good day. Am on train to Kassel. We should have been on it at 1409. Yesterday evening we received an email politely “asking” (read: “ordering”) that we consider checking our bags because the plane was fully-booked and delays were likely because there wouldn’t be sufficient space in the overhead lockers. Fair enough - one less thing to be worrying about at the airport and we had a comfortable two hour window to make the train at the other end.

Until the plane was half an hour late taking off.

No matter - we still had an hour and a half…

My case turned up at 1428. The other still hadn’t by the time we eventually got some sense out of the Lufthansa complaints department, who informed us that about half the cases never left Dublin.

At 0430 I had a quickly-grabbed Tesco pork pie for breakfast. I had a cup of (rather good, to be fair) coffee on the plane - with which they provided a couple of squares of (not very good) chocolate. By the time the trolley reached us, they were out of food. That was about nine hours ago.

If anything was salvaged from the sparrerly ravaged, it would be gratefully received. In fact, at this point, I think I’d even go for something post-Sparrer…

And isn’t that why Abroadland was created? We should not tamper with the Divine Plan with newfangledry such as lighter-than-air conveyances, and tunnels, and floating hostelries. No Good Will Come Of It.
they didn’t deliver me BOGOF avocados. Or the Serrano ham.

We bought a nice cactus ( a barrel type with 2-3 inch thorns all over) and I put it in the conservatory close to my chair

Our moggy was curious and stuck his face to it and withdrew shaypish
Errr repeatedly

He then washed his face and went to the catus

Again and again

Gus you call the Oaf a bit dim our rescue moggy must give him a run for his money

No such thing, imo. I don’t do pot plants: sources of guilt and misery, on the whole.

Now I do love cyclamen. Other people’s.
Not averse to pitchers, either. Cheers, Darling.

I am partial to house plants and intend to have a few in the conservatory once the cactus trains the cats to keep out of them

Lots of geraniums and cacti and some more exotic things like Venus fly trap

And amaryllises

Many of them pleasingly toxic, too.

Hmm
Promised 'phonecall from GP has taken place. He had to go on the Orsepiddle website to get my blood test results.

As suspected , my levels of Vitamin D are low which is common with Immunosupressed patients. He is prescribing me 15 days of a supercharged dose, & then a maintenance dose. I have been buying & taking Vitamin D for 4 years, but obviously not enuff. He is also increasing the dose of Pregabalin.
This will be at my usual Pharmacy today…

At last some efficiency

I seem to be on what the pharmacist calls “units” of vitamin D rather than anything I understand.

I am given 1600 of them a day.

I have no idea whether this means I need them, or just that (as with the iron) the doctor has forgotten that I’m taking them…

They were initially prescribed by a horrified hospital endocrinologist who had just looked at my blood test results. That was a few years ago now. (check check check: August 2017.)

1 µg = 40 IU, so 1600IU = 40µg.
