Another ‘not a “like” like’. Too frequent, like phoenixes, but without the whiff of burnin’ fevvers.
Gin or equivalent all round.

Oh, poor Twellsy, sorry about that. Hope you feel better soon.
“Don’t mind us, darlings. We’ll just sit in the dark. With the wasps.”
And the printer that has broken down in mid-document.
It’s all right, Fishy: we couldn’t have read it anyway [grinnity]
I feel very sorry for you, Twellsy. Dental pain is horrible and you don’t deserve it.
Fishers - junction boxes between ceiling and tiling? Much sympathy. And, still, bloody wasps!
Two separate text messages from someone allegedly my doctor. One to suggest statins (this after my recent bloods) and the other to inform me that my platelet count is raised and it might be ‘nothing’ but I should have a repeat blood test next month. Well - I am going to give the surgery my BP readings tomorrow (as requested yesterday) and convince myself that the raised platelets are down to the lurgy.

Oh Boo!
Not had any cortisone jabs or anything recently, wor Bee? Only that might do it.
Hugs
Gxx
No jabs of any sort, Gus - but, thanks for the suggestion and the hugs. Thinking about jabs, I’ll not be having any until this ‘interesting’ period of my life is sorted.
Dinner - kedgeree (from the freezer, freshly boiled eggs) mango chutney and lemon wedges. It wozz gud.

I want Kedgeree now!
It was mentioned elseboard last week, & I wanted it then too
Proffers Pitchers
Carinthia. xx
Yes, I saw the mention of kedgeree somewhere else and was surprised that people wouldn’t just omit the boiled eggs for freezing and cook fresh on defrost day. The smoked fish I use is just supermarket dyed and smoked haddock and it freezes well. Next time you’re here, Dear.
Time for bed, as I’ll be up again at 7 to (relaxedly) check my BP. Ugh.
Best nights, Cellarites,

Did you put a Noo battery in, or buy a Noo monitor, Soo?
The ‘conversation’ about Kedgeree was interesting, as everyone has their own tweaks/embellishments, as with most recipes. It really wasn’t of the calibre of Trifle Wars though…
Carinthia. xx
The second best kedgeree I’ve had was at Betty’s in Ilkley (yolks still runny).
The best was made by That Fish.
Who made the best Trifle, Dunnock?
Retires wiv bottle of Vodka & popcorn…
Have lit the Candles & fired-up the Quattro.
I would suggest leaving an tealight in an suitable holder for nocturnal visits to the kitchen, or take an torch.
Nocturnal visits to the bar will be fine, as you have furry lights…
Carinthia. xx
I keep a small led torch on my bedside table for when there’s power outages
My mouth is swollen so I look like a hamster with one cheek full of food
I have sympathy for the Fishly household and I hope that it can be warmed in a room on a different circuit to the ones affected by the water ingresses
More swollen, then, but I hope less sore and continuing in that direction. Sympathies.
I tried the new battery ruse, but it wasn’t foxed, sadly. I think that the cuff is worn and I’ll be buying a new monitor, this afternoon, to take on holiday with us. Also, I’ll pick up the higher dose meds that the GP prescribed this morning. And make a pasta salad, to eat in Aviemore, to avoid a long ‘meal break’. And pack - although the advantage of holidaying in Ullapool is that (generally speaking) few folk notice how one is turned out.
Morning, all

Twellsy, Dear - fuzzy hugs for your horrible dental distress.

It can be hard to tell through the driving rain;- )

That is absolutely true, Gus.
Right - I’m off for a shower and hairwash. Might trim me nails - some standards must be kept, after all.
