Both eyes, done a week apart because I had laser surgery for the short sight done at the same time. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.
The drops for the laser surgery stung a very little on the first day, each eye, but apart from that nothing bad about it.
I ought to add that my eyes being a squeam thing for me too was one of the reasons I had never got contact lenses. For decades. But honestly, you canāt even feel what is being done.

My Grandma had her cataracts done one at a time and after the first one started embroidering again the day after
She was a mere 85 years old!

One of the best operations available on the NHS. Transforms lives, imho, and saves mega bucks from accidents occasioned by dodgy sight. Iām very glad that you have been given the opportunity to have your cataract sorted out promptly, TFM. 
I have been shopping, today. So much stuff required for the festive timeā¦The car has developed a strange computer glitch re tyre pressures (again) so itās off to the garage to be sorted after kirk and weāll fit the upper stairgate after thatā¦Bedtime, now, fer yer bee. Best nights, all.

My eye test yesterday was at 11.35. At 10.29 this morning I had a call from the eye clinic and I now have my initial appointment, on 10th Jan. They told me it would be quick but I didnāt expect it to be that quick, astonishing.
